Winery in Binissalem

Our Story

Our beginnings making wine

The label of our first wine, Ses Nines, shows our mother when she was a child playing in the street of her hometown, Consell, one of those towns with a wine-growing tradition in the Raiguer region.

That girl, our mother, came from a family of farmers, and inherited a small vineyard in Consell that was more than 35 years old, planted exclusively with local grapes. Manto negro and in the traditional style, with “politxó” (in a tutored vase). Thanks to this small portion of land with Manto negro and the love and care that our mother professed to him, she and the other members of her family, the Morey Garau family, all from Binissalem, were excited by the idea of building a winery to make our own wines. The idea gained strength and it was in 2004 when the architectural project to build the winery began. Celler Tianna Negre. With perseverance and enthusiasm, the Celler Tianna Negre opened its doors to the first harvest in 2007.

Since our beginnings we have been adding land to the initial one, working in an ecological regime in all of them (2ha in Finca Biniagual, 4ha in Finca Es Pinaret, 5ha in Finca Son Colom, 10ha in Finca Can Parrona, 6ha in Finca Sa Vinyota, 5ha in Finca Es Velar and 22ha in Finca Son Boi). With all of them we continue the work of our mother's legacy, with absolute respect for the land, our winemaking traditions and native varieties.

Facilities and resources

The architecture of the «Celler Tianna Negre» It is a clear example of the combination of architectural design, functionality, and respect for the environment. The result is a powerful and spectacular building, fully integrated into its surroundings and with optimal energy use, work, and productivity conditions, all of which are reflected in the final result of our wines.

Ecological Vineyards

We own about 55 hectares of organic vineyards located in the regions of Binissalem and Consell, they are planted in “Call Vermell” soils, calcareous soils with pebbles and a clay texture and great drainage capacity.

Sustainability

We are not just one winery with 100% organic production, but we are also a sustainable and circular economy winery.

The winery was designed to work mainly by gravity throughout the production chain, which is reflected in energy savings. Two sets of photovoltaic panels, with 85kw of electrical energy production, make us practically self-sufficient throughout the year. Through a water purification system that uses oxygenation of the organic matter, we reuse all the water used in the winery.

R&D

At the Celler Tianna Negre We are convinced that, in addition to respect for our winemaking tradition, research, development, and innovation are of great importance in the world of wine, due to the significant improvements they bring to the final product. For all these reasons, we focus on R&D and quality in all aspects of the winemaking process. Our philosophy is that the quality of wines lies not only in the winery, but also begins in the vineyard and ends with its presentation for sale. Every year we tend to experiment with something different, both in vineyard management and in the production of new wines. The result of this drive for innovation is our Tianna Sommelier and Tianna Boutique wine ranges.
