It's been ten years since we started this journey with Tianna Negre 1 The Sommelier Collection Callet, and today, with the 2023 harvest, we celebrate a decade dedicated to exalting the essence of the Callet grape, one of the most representative of Mallorca.
From the beginning, our goal has been to create a wine that reflects the true identity of this very special variety. The 2023 vintage is the result of meticulous work in the vineyard and winery, seeking to highlight the fragrant nose and delicate texture that make Callet such a unique grape. Through sustainable cultivation and respectful winemaking, we have managed to capture its purest expression.
Over the years, I've realized that Callet only reveals its true character when worked with a low alcohol content, around 11,5-12%. This is how it manages to express all its elegance and authenticity. As a French Alsatian, I see in it the Burgundy of Spain, an oasis within a culture dominated by the pursuit of powerful, structured wines. Callet, on the other hand, stands out for its subtlety, its freshness, and its ability to move without needing to impose itself.
This year, the wine presents a fresh and vibrant nose, dominated by notes of red fruits, Mediterranean herbs, and a subtle spicy undertone. On the palate, its structure is light yet persistent, with elegant acidity and velvety tannins that enhance its balance and depth. Each sip is a tribute to the Callet, its history, and its oenological potential.
For me, this harvest represents the culmination of passionate work, a way of paying tribute to the land and the winemaking identity of Mallorca. With Tianna Negre 1 The Sommelier Collection Callet 2023, we toast to these ten years and all the moments that await us with this extraordinary grape.
